Wade Elofson – Founder
Wade Elofson has been selling for oil and gas service sector companies for more than 15 years. He started his career while completing his MBA at the Haskayne School of Business in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Wade moved to Australia from Canada in 2009 as a Director with Enerflex Energy Systems. After managing sales teams for most of his career Wade started Powered Sales and Marketing because he envisioned a better and more cost effective method for oil and gas service sector companies to bring their products and services to market.
Fergal Convery – Business Development Manager
Fergal is an energetic, focused and highly motivated Project Manager with broad experience in both construction and regulation aspects of energy-related projects over a 17 year period. Proven experience in delivering multiple projects of significant value and complexity in a fit for purpose method that achieved budget, schedule and quality requirements. Results driven and focused around the basic principles of early planning, development of robust scope, thorough stakeholder engagement, and clear communication.
Further to project delivery, Fergal has also been instrumental in project development of various gas and renewable energy projects. Tertiary qualifications include Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, and Project Management.
Andrew Hesse – Strategic Accounts Manager
Andrew Hesse has more than 17 years experience in the development and delivery of major resource industry projects, from aluminium, alumina, and iron ore to offshore and onshore oil and gas including CSG.
His experience is predominantly in project contracts and procurement but also spans business development, project controls and project management.
Andrew has worked on both contractor and owners’ teams, for Bechtel, BHP Billiton, Santos, a junior oil and gas explorer, and several mid tier contractors, on projects from a few million up to +USD 16Bn. Andrew has worked around Australia and around the world, with overseas projects in locations including the USA and Trinidad and Tobago. He has seen projects through from inception (concept) to closeout (including disputes and claims), has competently led teams. He holds degrees in business (majoring in marketing), and law, each from the Queensland University of Technology.
Andrew is well connected in both mining and oil and gas sectors, having worked closely with a number of contractors large and small, joint venture partners, large and small operators, service providers, and industry experts.
In addition, Andrew has worked on site and has a wealth of practical technical experience and knowledge that complements his commercial credentials. This combination makes Andrew an invaluable addition to any company or team working in or wanting to work in, the resources sectors. From marketing and sales, business development, through pre-contracts processes, to project development or delivery, Andrew’s market reach and insight, commercial know-how, strategic and analytical thinking, and practical commercial and contractual solutions are market leading.
Arthur Stack – Non Executive Director
With almost 40 years of experience in the Marine, Oil and Gas and Power Generation industries, Arthur brings a mature mix of technical and business management skills, together with a strong network of industry contacts and exposure to global projects. In this time he has spent 26 years working for Solar Turbines Incorporated in various technical and commercial roles of increasing responsibility. His most recent role was Regional Service Manager for Solar Turbines Australia from 1st January 2008 to 31st May 2013. In this role he assumed the Sales and Operations responsibility for all of Solars’ aftermarket business in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Region. While on assignment in San Diego, Arthur completed a Masters of Business Administration (Marketing Major) to compliment his Diploma in Professional Business. In addition to his business management qualifications Arthur spent 10 years as a multi-disciplined Gas Turbine Commissioning Engineer in both Oil & Gas Power and Generation markets.
Lara Kinsella – Marketing Coordinator
Lara has been working with oil and gas service companies for a number of years. Through organising sales events and promotional outings for customers Lara has been an integral part of all the sales teams that she has worked with. Lara has a keen eye for sales campaigns that work and drive business. Lara joined Powered soon after its inception and works closely with the team to help boost revenue for its clients.
Dr. Robert Perrons – Non-Executive Board Member
Prior to joining the Queensland University of Technology as an Associate Professor in 2011, Rob worked in a wide variety of roles and locations for Shell International’s Exploration & Production division. He started his career in Shell’s Strategy & Economics team in 1997, and then worked for several years as a production engineer in the company’s overseas operations (offshore and onshore). He then left Shell for three years to work as an Industrial Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge, but re-joined Shell again in 2004 to become the company’s Executive Coordinator of R&D. Rob also served as Shell’s Manager of Learning & Development for the Western Hemisphere. His research these days focuses on technology strategy and innovation management within the oil & gas industry and mining sector. He is also the founder and managing director of Petrovation, a firm specializing in consulting and analytical services pertaining to technology-related issues in the oil & gas and mining industries. Rob has collaborated on research projects with a broad range of organizations including Microsoft, Intel, Rio Tinto, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Energistics www.energistics.org oil & gas data exchange consortium, and also serves as an advisor to MIT’s Mining, Oil & Gas Club. Rob graduated summa cum laude with a B.Eng. in mechanical engineering from McMaster University in Canada, where he was the class valedictorian. He also earned a S.M. degree in Technology & Policy from MIT and a PhD in engineering from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Gates Cambridge Scholar. He is a Fellow of both the UK’s Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and Engineers Australia, and is chartered as a Eur. Ing. in Europe. Also, he is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and continues to stay connected to the University of Cambridge as an Affiliated Researcher. Born and raised in Canada, Rob currently lives in the Brisbane area with his wife, Shannon, and their three sons.
